Come on now. Don't you just love it when you are acknowledged as a blogger? Doesn't it make your heart take one extra pitter patter when you see a new follower? Or get an award? It's such a "pat on the back." How can anyone resist or complain about them? (Ahem, blog award haters.)
Conversely, don't you start to panic a little when you see that you lost a follower? Or every award seems to pass you by?
Come on.

Recently, I've had an epiphany: blogging feeds the inner narcissistic beast within us all.
And my beasts' belly is mighty full today.
Why?
My BBFF (Best Blogging Friend Forever) Reffie at Confessions of a Reforming Geek blog gave me an award!
She's so sweet. We have an understanding.
Oh, come on, she's happily married, and I am....married too. We aren't into each other that way.
No, our understanding comes from a connection that can't be easily defined.
We are blogging buds to the "nth" degree.
She likes me! She really, really likes me!
And I really, really like her too.
So although we have this understanding, she still sees fit to bestow upon me an award. She didn't have to, but she did.
You didn't have to award me, but you did, but you did, but you did. And I thank-you!

I feel honored, truly I do.
I'm really grateful for this whole new world of blog friendships that otherwise I would not have. It's great to have blogging buddies, but it's also good to have real life buddies.
I mean, come on, if you didn't have real life buddies, who else would you make fun of on your blogs?
